What is a Podcast?
Podcasting, is a describe the technology used to push audio content from websites down to consumers of that content, who typically listen to it on their iPod (hence the "pod") or other audio player that supports mp3 audio at their convenience. What makes podcasting special is that it allows interested individuals like you to subscribe to a podcast in order to automatically receive new shows or teachings without having to remember to go to a specific site and check for updates or download it from there. Once you subscribe to the podcasting feed, your computer will automatically download the most recent updates or additions to the podcast once you connect to the internet. In this way, once you plug your iPod or MP3 player in to your computer, it will download the new audio content so you can have it with you wherever you go. |
